De massagetechniek van Manuele Lymfe Drainage

De druk is laag, om de lymfecapillairen te beschermen, om toename van de doorbloeding
te voorkomen en voor de ontspanning.

De massage heeft een ‘drukfase’ en een ‘drukloze fase’. De drukfase zorgt voor voldoende
opening van de kleinste lymfevaten, de drukloze fase geeft de lymfevaten weer de
gelegenheid zich te sluiten, waarna de lymfe verder afgevoerd kan worden.

De bewegingsvorm is circulair en loodrecht op het lichaamsoppervlak, de fijne structuren
worden daardoor slechts kortstondig vervormd en gerekt binnen hun rekking- en
vervormingvermogen. Zo ontstaan er geen beschadigingen en worden de lymfevaten op de
juiste wijze geprikkeld en gevuld.

Het ritme is langzaam, ongeveer 1 tot 1,5 seconde per beweging, in verband met de
hartfrequentie, de viscositeit (weerstand/stroperigheid) van de lymfe, deze heeft tijd nodig
om in beweging te komen.

Het aantal herhalingen van een lopende of staande beweging is 5 – 7 keer, omdat dan de
lymfecapillairen zeker één maal open gaan en dus lymfeafvoer wordt bereikt.

De opbouw is van centraal (midden/binnenzijde) naar periferie (omgeving/buitenzijde). De
meest centraal gelegen gebieden worden hierbij eerst gedraineerd, daarna de gebieden die
het verst van het centrum liggen. De reden is om de weg naar het afvoerpunt alvast open
te zetten, voor een goede doorstroming van het lymfevocht, zodat deze niet geblokkeerd is.
